There was a point in my life where my skin benefitted from a satisfying spa day from time to time. It’s always something I’ll enjoy, but when a trip to the spa means less quality time with family, I’m not as inclined to indulge. To save time without sacrificing feeling pampered, I’ve incorporated a few DIY beauty treatments in to my routine.
This banana and Greek yogurt face mask calls for two convenient ingredients – both are staples in Harlowe’s diet, so I have them at the house constantly!
- 1/2 ripe banana
- Unsweetened Greek yogurt
Bananas brighten the skin and moisturize the heck out of it. The vitamin A in them evens out rough skin leaving it soft and enviably smooth.
Eating Greek yogurt helps combat fine-lines by making skin firmer and smoother, but wearing Greek yogurt makes your skin appear more youthful by exfoliating the skin and tightening pores. Thanks, lactic acid.
How to mix it up:
In a bowl, mash the banana with a fork, then add 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt. Blend them together fully, then gently pat the mixture on your clean face using your finger tips. I let the mask sit as long as I can stand it (about 20 min) and then rinse it off to find softer, more youthful skin.
