A Family Affair

dressed up moto jacket

I think we can all agree that the best part of the holidays is getting to see friends and family. Whether it’s a dozen cousins or reuniting with girlfriends that you’ve group texted for far too long, these people bring a change of energy.

Luckily, I get some of that each day coming home to my small family. Despite the stress of being mom to a toddler (and I say that fondly), moments with my favorite girl are more memorable than moments with just about anyone else! She’s a total ham #IRL, but especially in front of a camera (even though her dad is not always enthusiastic about being on the other side of the lens). Both of them were a total troopers on this particular day exploring Crissy Field and snapping family photos.

Now for the outfit. As a lover of plaid, I’m thrilled the holiday season affords me the chance to wear the festive pattern nearly as often as I press repeat on Mariah’s “All I want for Christmas.” (You know you sing along too!) The midi-meets-maxi length, touch of lace and yes, a plaid pattern make this dress ideal for everyday, but can also be dressed up. Paired with a moto jacket and metallic slip-ons, this outfit is the perfect balance of chic and comfortable.
