You know what I am LOVING? Every Who What Wear x Target piece like, ever. After quitting my job at Google to blog/vlog/mother my babies full-time, I realized I have like, zero casual outfits. That combined with my clothing budget being greatly reduced (goes along with saying goodbye to my corporate salary eeekkkkk…. it will pay off, I know it!) has me picking up pieces at budget and style-friendly places like Target, Old Navy, H&M, etc. This dress, although not super-casual (I have a fancy dress problem, guys.) is so breezy and chic, I couldn’t pass it up. I’m going to wear it half-way unbuttoned over jeans in the fall to really maximize my cost-per-wear.
I wore this to the Fashion Mama’s ‘Mama’s Making It’ Summit at the W in Hollywood last Saturday. It was such an honor (and a huge inspiration) to be there. Stay tuned for a more in-depth recap and some photos of the beautiful event!
Hello and happy Friday! Like many, one of my favorite things about Summer is the longer days. The Banker is home before dark much more often in the Summer so we get to take a family stroll and catch up on the day before the kids go to sleep. It a great way for us to get in some exercise on days where something more intense isn’t possible. I’m wearing a new Tobi shift dress that I’ve been living in this week because it’s been super hot in our house. It’s the kind of lazy-day piece I’ll wear around the house, out to eat with the family (with a little bralette or cami under) and as a cover-up at the pool. Who doesn’t need more pieces like that?
You guys, it’s almost the 4th of July! [Insert fireworks emoji.] It’s always so much fun getting people together to celebrate. I love the pool time, the gluten free turkey burger someone always begrudgingly throws on the grill for me and of course, blue and red is one of my favorite color combos. Just not on skin. In exchange for fun in the sun, one must of course wear sunscreen (or you really will be red) so I’ve made you guys a little video about my all time favorite sunscreen products. These are sure to keep you oiling and lotioning, lotioning and oiling with the best of them all Summer long.

If you follow me on Instagram you know I’ve been having trouble prioritizing my workouts lately. I love going to yoga, but it’s been really difficult to get my mat time in. I’ve got 99 excuses, but lack of / love of sleep is the main one. I just started Kayla Itsine’s BBG program and it’s kicking my ass. It’s so convenient too. Each workout is 28 minutes so I do them after I get the kids to sleep at night, but before I Netflix and Chill. I am trying to get up earlier to get my workouts in before the kids wake up so I started a morning bootcamp at my yoga studio which begins at 6:15 (insert yawn face) and lasts for 2 weeks. I’m hoping that morning wakeup call and the joy of having completed a gnarly workout by 7:15 am changes my habit of sleeping in until 6:30-7 everyday. More importantly, I’m hoping it helps me change my habit of staying up until 12am each night.
Trying to look totally ‘natch’ in my new mesh jacket. 🙂

I’m honored to have teamed up with Banana Republic once again to share what moves me. I think of my children automatically. A few weeks ago, we went to Mammoth Mountain for the first time. Harlowe had never skied and despite being together since 2009 and having snowboarded several times since then, Kaare and I had never snowboarded together. What?! Unreal I say!
So when he had to go to Mammoth for work I decided the kids and I should go out and meet him because why should he have to ‘work’ all by himself? 😉 Harlowe went to ski school during the day which was a little overwhelming for her because it was only her 2nd time even seeing snow. (Her first time was actually earlier this month in Palm Springs!) Anyway, we sent her off to ski school and The Banker and I did a few runs which took me a long time because I am rusty! After a few runs, we went to watch Harlowe and she saw us and had a melt down! Never, ever show up for your kid’s ski lessons. The instructors will hate you and your heart will break when you see your baby crying. It took everything not to pull her out and hug her. She was stronger than me because after we left, we could see her get right up and give it her all until she got up the poma and down the hill ALL BY HERSELF.
To say it was one of my proudest moments is an understatement. Kaare and I were both overwhelmed with joy and pride that she stuck with it and she did it! When asked if she wanted to go again the next day, she said, ‘definitely not’, but she’s talked about her first time skiing every day since so I know how much it meant to her.
The first time I went skiing until I was 17 and my friend’s mom took me and paid for my rentals and lift ticket then graciously taught me to ski. I still remember how much fun it was and how empowered I felt coming down Mt Lemon alone for the first time. It felt like I was going 40mph but I was probably going slower than the small kids. I am so glad that we were able to give Harlowe that experience as a little kid! I honestly think she’s already a better skier than me and it makes Kaare and I so happy that she has these opportunities that neither of us had as kids.
We wrapped up the trio with some breakfast tacos with friends and I wore this ruffle sweater from Banana republic — perfect for colder Spring days like we experienced in Mammoth and on sale! I’ve been loving all things ruffled lately especially when paired with studs like these freakishly good Valentino dupes! Got to have a little bit of edge with your outfit especially when you’re feeling like a bad ass mom after a day ‘sending it’ (slowly but surely)!
Happy International Women’s Day! With everything that is going on politically lately, I am moved by all of the positive messages sent by and for women across the globe today. I was listening to the radio this morning on my way home from dropping of Gunnar and one of the hosts was talking about how women should get more pay, not just equal because people should be paid based on performance and he (yes, he!) believes that in most cases, women out-perform their male counterparts. For the first time in months, I found myself saying, I’m with him.

Wear RED in solidarity. Or, if you’re like me and all of you personal possessions are boxed up in a garage, wear commanding boots and a soft, feminine sweater with red underwear. Why red? I asked too. Here’s an explanation from @WomensMarch “Today, as we wear red, the color of revolutionary love and sacrifice, we hope that our commitment to each other is reinforced.”
Make your voice heard. Maybe you don’t call in ‘sick’; there is work to be done after all. Think of what you can personally do to ensure we’re closing the gender gap on pay (or whatever else you want to take a stand for!) Here’s a few ideas:
Ask your manager if you’re still on track for that promo and start talking about your expected salary.
Negotiate for a larger bonus or merit increase now.
Donate some gently used clothes to a women’s shelter nearby. Office attire would be particularly helpful in this case.

You guys, I’ve done it. I’ve become one of those moms that wears yoga pants like, for three days straight. I don’t even have any intention of practicing yoga many of those days. While I certainly never frowned upon living in yoga pants, it just wasn’t for me. That is until I started working from home and discovered athleisure is pretty much a gift from the fashion gods and is best worn Sunday through Sunday. Old Bethann was so wrong.
I discovered Outdoor Voices recently and picked up this bra which I thought would be great for hot yoga and these pants which are for anything and everything. 🙂 So far, I am living in the sweats. I even wear them to bed which I’m ashamed to admit saves me time in the morning because I don’t have to change before I drop the kids off at school.
I also discovered this site and between the two of them am having no issue transitioning my wardrobe from ‘business-cajjjjj’ apparel to much comfier and decidedly cooler, athleisure duds.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and love is on all of our brains. Whether your a happily-married mother or a lady who’s looking, unwavering self-love isn’t always easy. I grasp it one day, but the next day, I catch myself thinking unloving and/or unhelpful thoughts. Those two things often go together. Since February is the month of ‘love’, I’m sharing a few ways to help you practice self-love this month and always.
Indulge in a massage or facial. My favorite place for facials in LA is Alchemie Spa on Main Street. They use all organic products and I always leave feeling like I don’t need a stitch of makeup.
Take a walk in nature.
Take a ‘mental health day’ from work. If you stay at home with kids ask a good friend or family member to watch them for the day or even a few hours and return the favor!
Go to yoga.
Lather up with luxurious shampoo and conditioner. I’ve talked about my go-to plenty of times and Winter is the perfect time to add it to your shower routine because in helps combat seasonal dryness. Show your locks some love with Shu Uemura Ultimate Remedy 2 x a week and if you’re working with medium length hair, this will last you ~6 months.
Take some professional selfies. I do this more than I probably should, especially when I was fashion blogging. See above. You may not love it now, but decades from now you will love seeing pictures of your beautiful mug as it was. You are more beautiful than you believe.
Organize a book swap.“Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.” -Charles William Eliot. Get your hands on some friend’s books with book swap… do it over brunch or mimosas to make it even better.
Treat yourself to some new pajamas. I have my fave pair in a new color on the brain but, boy do these babies look identical at less than $20.
Guess who finally snagged a pair of Mother jeans? Me! Yes, these ones are the Looker Ankle Fray?! Daaaang, these are just as good as I had heard. I am such a sucker for jeans and frequently hear from KW who thinks that 2 small drawers of jeans is about one and a half drawers too many. I have been wearing these non-stop since they arrived at my doorstep two weeks ago. They are like pajamas they are so comfortable. Unlike pajamas, I wear them to the office, kid drop off and date night (as seen here with this lovely cold shoulder blouse). I love not having to think about what to wear on my bottom half. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

I think I’ll live in these huaraches my sweet husband bought me a few months back. They’re my go-to with LBDs, raw hem jeans, and of course, athleisure momiforms that make getting ready in the morning (and chasing after toddlers) easier.
I don’t have a lot going on up top as far as my chest is concerned so I don’t mind a deep-V neck, but for daytime, I throw on a long-sleeved tee underneath for a little coverage.
