Like many beauty-obsessed gals, my curiosity for lipstick started in middle school. I wore it behind my mom’s back, of course. Back then, my backpack always held a bright green tube of lipstick that turned pink on the lips. The shade supposedly varied with your mood, but my tube didn’t seem to fluctuate. Perhaps I wasn’t moody enough? Nah.
Fast forward just a few years to present day and I’ll swipe on lipstick if nothing else. Not only does it make me feel pulled together, but it serves secondarily as a defense mechanism against purple lips — a feature I have that often leads friends to believe I must be freezing all the time.
