I’ve been feeling extra nomadic lately. I spent last week in NYC, last weekend in NorCal, and will be moving to LA in a couple days. Fortunately for me, I like living like a gypsy…I find it cleansing.  There are few times in your life when you get to purge your belongings and make room for future wardrobe staples. And no matter how much you think you love an item of clothing or a piece of furniture, you’ll surprise yourself with how quickly you’ll donate or sell said possession when faced with packing and moving to a new city.

In an effort to make the move to LA seamless, I’ve been simplifying my closet by donating, selling or gifting a lot of my clothes and shoes. (Shameless plug: I still have some items in my Poshmark closet available for sale.)   Keeping only the basics means less clutter and fewer decisions to make when getting dressed in the morning. Case in point: this versatile black jumper with sheer detail paired with sporty black pants = no brainer. This sweater is from petite retailer, Adela Mei and I love how many of their basics have some interesting detail, but are still classic enough to be worn frequently for years to come.

Have you done a closet purge lately? What are some of your closet staples that withstand multiple moves? Thank you so much for reading!

Wearing: Hurricane Jumper c/o Adela Mei (offering 70% off of select items and an additional 20% off of all items) / Wayf pants (old & available at ThreadUp!)  / Clare Vivier clutch (navy foldover here) / Saint Laurent shoes
