PARTYSKIRT

Partyskirts by SKOT

Last week I welcomed my 30th birthday with open arms and a much-needed trip up the coast. The Banker tried to surprise me with a Santa Barbara getaway, but I sensed something was up and began peppering him with questions until he spilled the beans. My curiosity may make it difficult for me to be surprised (that and I just hate surprises), but a weekend getaway was very unexpected.

Wearing: J.Crew blouse (similar here and here) / PARTYSKIRTS skirt (similar option here and here) / DSW shoes (total steal!) / Phillip Lim bag / Hermes bracelet / Karen Walker sunnies (similar under $20) / MAC Coral Bliss lips

Harlowe stayed behind with her grandpa which enabled us to do the ‘couple’ things that we no longer take for granted: casually peruse the racks of brick and mortar stores, enjoy dinner at a nice restaurant after 6pm and most of all, relax. I was near tears on Sunday because even though I couldn’t wait to get back home to Harlowe, I wasn’t ready to get back to reality. No sleeping in? No thanks!

As for the late-night (for us) dinners, we went to The Lark and I wore a bold PARTYSKIRT because, in my book, it wouldn’t be a real birthday celebration without one! I’ve had my eye on these skirts for awhile, but couldn’t justify the purchase because it’s not often this thirty-year-old mama wears flirty mini skirts. Fortunately, I caught a deal on Lucky Breaks which is one of my favorite little deal finders so I didn’t have to feel as guilty. After wearing it, I have no regrets! Okay, I kind of wish I bought two, but one of them would be their ‘lady length’ which is in my midi comfort zone.

Thanks for stopping by – I hope you have a great weekend!
