Bloom

things to do with kids in Los Angeles
Yesterday we went to Bloom, an interactive Art Show that was here in Los Angeles. You may have seen in my stories that I saw Channing Tatum there, but there were SO many more exciting things happening. Mostly because I was way too shy / cognizant of his desire to simply chill with his daughter to talk to him and so it was quite the uneventful sighting. Here’s what did go down though…
Attempted some family photos and actually got 75% of the Wagner Clan looking somewhat towards the camera!
Played in an interactive flower house complete with flower bed, bathtub and even a toilet. More on that later.

Here are the kids playing in the flower bed. Harlowe and I made these cute flower crowns at the Art Show for only $5. They were so fun to make and looked really pretty despite my limited crafting abilities.

And of course, the flower bath which smelled oh so lovely like lavender.   Bethanimalprint
The kids made flower recipes in the kitchen for probably a full hour. I guess I need to strew petals across the kitchen to keep them occupied more often!

The flower living room was so bright and comfortable. I would have stayed here all afternoon if it weren’t for the hoards of Instagrammers waiting in line to take an all-too-similar photo.  No snark detected just an interesting time we are living in where too many people seemed more interested in photos than the experience…yet here I am with about 20 photos to share with you so I don’t have much of an argument here. Note to my kids reading this in the future: ALL these were taken over the course of 3 hours and we did really enjoy the experience! Put your phones down. 🙂

He probably went in this tub 6 times. He’d hop out (there was a time limit so other people could get in and take photos) and then he would get right back in line. The lavender smelled so good and each time he would come out smelling more and more delicious.
Potty training hack? For him, I’d probably dress the toilet in toy cars to get him excited about toilet training.BLOOM LA

Gunnar was obsessed with these boots that were set out in a garden area. he kept trying to walk in them and then would fall over and declare he was gardening. The kids painted on canvases using real flowers. They had these giant canvases set up all day so everyone could stop by and contribute to the piece. It looked really pretty toward the end of the day – I’d hang that on my wall for sure. Might have to replicate this idea on a smaller scale at home.

If you missed the Bloom Art Show in LA, rumor has it (I mean, I spoke with the woman who put it on) that they want to host these all over the county and that Orange County is probably next. Keep your eyes peeled for more info.
