Summer Picnicking

Over the past five years and three apartments, there has been one consistent theme for my family: Living adjacent to a park.  My husband and I grew up in smaller towns and always had an outdoor space, so urban living has led us to seek out open, grassy, public parks as an extension of our urban living spaces.

Living near Lafayette Park in San Francisco allowed us to see some of the cities most adorable dogs, have a few impromptu BBQs with our makeshift grill, and put Harlowe in the grass. (She hated it in true city girl fashion.)

We loved that park and the memories we made there, but eventually it was time to move on and we headed south to Silicon Valley and most recently Santa Monica! As we’ve gathered with friends over the years, I learned how to pack food and drink that would satisfy a group, clean up easily and perhaps, most importantly, look great on the table or picnic blanket.

When it comes to picnics, I’m all about fresh colorful fruit, a savory item like chips, and something sweet like mini cupcakes. I say they’re for the kids, but they’re actually for KW and me. For drinks, I’m one of those people who finds it difficult to drink eight glasses of water a day so I rely on sparkling water. The more flavored the better! We recently tried IZZE Sparkling Water I picked up all three flavors Mandarin Lime, Blackberry Pear, and Raspberry Watermelon. They were all light, fresh and best of all, USDA Organic Certified – made with organic natural flavors and organic cane sugar.

As you can tell from the sleek, colorful bottles, IZZE elevates your summer picnic with friends and family, making them brighter, stylish and more interesting. Who could argue with that?
