Our favorite kid’s books right now: vol. 2

Not even sure why I put ‘kid’s books’ in the title because I haven’t read a book for my own entertainment since before Gunnar was born! With that, here’s another edition of what we’re reading now (to the kids!) The first edition is here if you missed it!

Creepy Pair of Underwear: This book is really funny to anyone under 8 and to my husband because well, it’s about a creepy pair of underwear. Aside from the rad illustrations, I like it because it has this underlying message that things you once feared may not be that bad after all.

We’re All Wonders: Have you guys seen this movie yet? TEAR JERKER! The book is totally sweet and this one is perfect for the younger set. I love that it teaches them that sometimes people may not look ordinary, but we are all essentially the same and capable of extraordinary things. It also reinforces that notion that we should all choose kindness and have empathy for others. The illustrations are super engaging even for Gunnar who is 2 and it’s written is a way that Harlowe (age 6) can read it independently and understand what she’s reading.

“Look with kindness and you will always find wonder.”

I’ll Never Let You Go: This is a classic you probably already have and if you don’t, go get it! It’s so sweet and really helps the little ones build trust and confidence through the story of a parent who will be there every step of the way.
